Treasure Festa in Akiba event coverage

Treasure Festa in Akihabara was a one-day event held on 20 June 2010 in Akihabara UDX building's Akiba Square. Personally, I don't quite understand the reason why event organizer Griffon Enterprises decided to run yet another Treasure Festa event just 7 weeks after their big one at Tokyo Big Sight and about 5 weeks before Wonder Festival 2010 Summer.

There weren't a lot of new resin kits from the sculptor circles unveiled at the event, except for a few pieces that we'll see again at next month's Wonder Festival. Griffon announced their Touhou Project repaints that will be exclusive to Wonder Festival 2010 Summer event, which I will post info on shortly.

Check out Tomopop's coverage of the event with my photos in the links below:

Treasure Festa in Ariake 3 event coverage

Treasure Festa in Ariake 3 took place during Golden Week, and I was there not only to purchase event exclusive kits and figures for customers but also to cover the event for my fellow friends at Tomopop. For those of you who have yet to read their posts on the event, click here for a complete list of links to their excellent posts covering the event with photos that I had provided.

I'm currently busy with preparations for the move to my new apartment in Tokyo so I won't have the time to write my own coverage of the event. Feel free to ask me about anything I took pics of that you're interested to know more details on, and I'll see if I can recall who made those items and if they'll be available for purchase again.

Next event will be Treasure Festa in Akiba to be held on 20 June 2010. Keep watch on Tomopop for the event coverage with my photos up on the same day!

Treasure Festa in Ariake 2 - Figures & Sci-Fi

Here's the final post for my Treasure Festa in Ariake 2 coverage that spotlights some of the amazing pieces presented at the show that caught my attention. Pictured above is of a figma Fate figure with custom parts and weapons including the XN Raiser backpack originally for Bandai's Gundam 00 HG kit series. Can't remember which sculptor circle that made this. Quite an impressive custom with the parts sold out in just a few short hours after the start of the event.

This one was also done by the same sculptor circle that did the custom figma Fate. She's Ginga Nakajima from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS.

Marina from Bakusou Kyoudai Let's & Go!! This custom utilizes Revoltech Revy's body.

Fully poseable resin kit of Yoko by EBO. Bought one for a customer.

Long Long's latest resin kit release. Tooko Amano from Bungaku Shoujou. I'm a fan of Long Long's works, particularly the way he paints his figures in soft color tones.

Nice kit of Fafner Mark Nicht from Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor. I've yet to watch the show. Is it any good? The mech designs I saw do look interesting though.

Pilot chick from Muv-Luv. I noticed there are increasingly more sculptor circles releasing poseable resin figure kits these days. Now if only they'd release completed poseable figures for people like me who don't have the skills to build resin kits! I'd gladly pay a bit more for a completed piece.

figma scale color resin kit of Thanatos from Persona 3 done by Rampage Ghost. There was a feature article on the kit in Figure Maniacs magazine. Not sure which issue though.

Another figma scale color resin kit by Rampage Ghost. This one is Izanagi from Persona 4.

The most powerful Persona--Izanagi-no-Okami!

Poseable resin kit of DIANE-VII. Out of all the mechs from Gigantic Formula, this is the only one that's a decent-looking mech IMO.

This one's just absolutely gorgeous! It captures the cartoony 2D look perfectly and brought to life as an amazing 3D sculpture.

An original color resin kit by Basil called Lady Roses Ruby. Seen this a couple years back. Pretty amazing kit that's fully transformable and in scale with Microman figures. I might get one someday whenever I have the time to start building kits again. Would certainly like to give resin kits a try since there's so much great stuff out there that's only available in resin kit form.

This is the next kit that Basil is currently working on.

This one's called Macine Bros Type Taurus. 13,000 yen for this kit. Looks complicated! >_<

Egoista by Klondike. Done by the same sculptor that did the Yoko Real Image ver. figure, which I currently have on pre-order. Can't wait!

Also by Klondike, this one's called Soil. A rather unfortunate name for such a cutie! ^^;

Lovely kit of Ymir from Queen's Blade by T's System. Detail is nice but personally, I'd have her set in a more dynamic pose instead.

Kanu soaking in a tub o' green gel!

Daiki Kougyou's gonna start selling jars of soft clear green gel that's set for release in December. Limited to only 500. I don't understand why anyone would want to slime their figures. Thankfully they only made it in green and not wh ... err ... not gonna go there. ^^;

This is the first of Daiki Kougyou's figures that really impressed me. The sculpt and finish on Leina looks absolutely phenomenal in person. Definitely getting one when it is announced for release as a PVC figure.

A color resin kit of a Nendoroid-style Fujioka teddy bear from Minami-ke. It was sold at a low low price of just 1,000 yen! Didn't noticed it until I checked my pics after the event. I would've picked it up had I known it was that cheap.

Here's an interesting female rendition of the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. Done by a sculptor circle named Piece. They also did the White Rabbit and a couple Trump Soldiers that are equally imaginative. Check the flickr gallery at the end of this post for more pics.

Being a big Silent Hill 2 fan, I just couldn't miss out on taking pics of Hellpainter's resin kit of the Bubblehead Nurse. Now if only there's a toy company out there that would make Silent Hill creature figures. I'd buy them for sure! Check my flickr gallery for a pic of the Lying Figure.

Gorgeous kit of Donne Anonime a.k.a. Nameless Girl from Zoku Satsuriku no Django.

Very impressive and imaginative sculpt of Omnimon from Digimon that's fully poseable though released only as a resin kit.

I've seen many renditions of Plenair over the years of attending hobby events, and this one's by far the best! I'd love to have one to hang up on my wall.

Custom Busou Shinki Milchstrasse Alpha figure by Candy Meteor. So adorable!

Asuka's sexy new plug suit worn in Evangelion 2.0 when test piloting EVA-03.

A diskvision original kit called Candy Apple Devil ROUAGE (NSFW!).

"Feed me! I'm malnourished!"

Finally got to see a painted sample of A-Label's Arrow Head, and it looks superb! I'm a fan of the classic R-Type shooter and can't wait to get my hands on this piece! It's made of die-cast metal and PVC. Set of release in January 2010. Price TBA.

It will come in three different colors: original, black, and red.

A-Label's upcoming Full Action Fighters action figure series will start with K' (K Dash) from King of Fighters. No word on price yet. Set for release sometime in 2010. Give me Iori and Mai figures, please!

Also due out sometime in 2010 is a 1/6-scale PVC figure of Vanessa from King of Fighters.

1/7-scale Kanu Unchou Maid Outfit Ver. PVC figure by Griffon Enterprises. Due out in February 2010 and will retail for 8,500 yen. Is there no end to Kanu figures?! >_<

Starting off Griffon's new Figutto action figure lineup in February 2010 is Tamaki Kousaka from To Heart 2. Looks fine as an action figure but I still prefer figmas. What do you think about Griffon's attempt at producing poseable figures?

Next one after Tamaki will be Sasara in maid outfit.

Other characters announced for the Figutto lineup were Leina and Airi from the Queen's Blade series, Kanu Unchou Neko Mimi ver., and a couple other To Heart characters. They'll do Touhou Project figures down the line but I still think figmas are way better in terms of sculpt. Anyone planning to pick up a Figutto? I might get one if they make a character I like.
