Two big boxes containing a total of 14 pieces of Good Smile Company's 1/8 Motoko Kusanagi PVC figure were delivered to my front door yesterday. These were ordered for clients when I was taking preorders for the exclusive item back in 17th May 2007.
Good Smile Company GitS:SAC:SSS 1/8 Motoko Kusanagi PVC - Amazon.co.jp exclusive - 14 pieces - 5,460 yen each
12 pieces are currently reserved and will soon be shipped out to clients who placed their preorders with me back in May, got one piece for my own collection, and one extra piece listed up on eBay for auction with starting bid at US$50.
Here's a comparison shot of Alter's 1/7 Motoko Kusanagi from GitS:SAC 2nd GIG and Good Smile Company's 1/8 Motoko Kusanagi from GitS:SAC:SSS. I have yet to open both. Gotta wait till I move to my new apartment in Sano this December and dedicate a section of the shelf to GitS stuff.
Which of the two do you like best?
I love 'em both! But if I had to choose one, I'd go with Alter's because of the sculpt and pose.

It's Alter's version hands down. I love that figure. (http://drotaku82.blogspot.com/2007/04/motoko-kusanagi-pvc.html). I had a major inner battle with myself on whether or not to open this box. The figure is too stunning not to display. Motoko is one of my favorite anime characters and I've been looking for the perfect figure of her with no such luck until this came along.
Yup, me thinks Alter's Motoko looks more nicer tu~ She's one of my fav in my collection.(^-^)
Rei,
Get another one so you have one to open for display and one mint in box! ;) I'm definitely opening mine after the move with a special shelf space dedicated to GitS.
Modo,
I don't collect much anime character figures but what little anime figures I have I love them to bits like Alter's Motoko. I don't think I'll ever part with such a nice figure of the Major ... unless they make one that tops this!
Tokyo Hunter,
I totally agree. Once I placed that Motoko figure on my shelf, I was compelled to make it an all-GitS shelf...it really made it all the more beautiful.
