DX Chogokin VF-25 Messiah Fold Clear review

I bought various Valkyries for my collection over the past three years since living in Japan and this was the first one that I actually couldn't wait to take it out of the box! My order for the Tamashii Web Shop exclusive DX Chogokin VF-25F Messiah Valkyrie Fold Clear version arrived last weekend and I immediately took it out and transformed it around while taking some pics. Pictured above is the packaging printed in black and white with hologram pattern throughout.

A look at the contents. Basically the same as the regular version but molded in clear plastic with special hologram coating that makes it look absolutely gorgeous! Only a few parts are painted.

Out of all the Valkyries, the VF-25F Fighter is my personal favorite with Roy's VF-0S in close second.

Shiny silver mirror coating on the nozzles/feet!

Closeup view of what's underneath the Fighter with gunpod attached.

It's been a long while since I last transformed a Valkyrie so it took me quite some time to figure out how to transform it into Gerwalk mode while referencing the instructions and not breaking the parts. Somehow I got this feeling that toys made of clear parts are extremely fragile so I was quite afraid that I might be using too much force when folding the parts.

Gerwalk with gunpod.

Cockpit and pilot are both molded in clear plastic with hologram coating as well.

Battroid mode, at your service!

I'm really digging the gorgeous hologram coating on the clear body. I probably might not have bought it if it didn't have the special coating since I already have the clear version of the 1/72-scale VF-25F plastic kit. That reminds me, I need to take the kit out and build it someday.

Gunpod-totting action!

Nice mechanical detail on the gunpod that's made more visible with the clear parts.

Nice gloss white finish on the head with hologram coating over it. Gotta take out the regular version and stand them side by side someday. Hmm...wonder how this Clear Fold version would look like with Super Parts or Armored Parts attached.

Here's a shot of it under the sun.
Hologram coating isn't that visible though.

Check out more pics in the flickr gallery below. I have a few pieces of this item for sale, so if anyone is interested, please email me for details!

I bought quite a lot of stuff for my own collection lately but they're still in the boxes. Not much time to open them up these days but when I do, I'll be sure to post some shots of my latest purchases. ^^

dude, i really have no one else to ask this question since i know nobody else with the fold color.

so yeah, i have a little bit of problem with the shoulder joint that's EXTREMELY TIGHT to the point where there's absolutely zero movement past a certain point.

and that the crotch does not tab in to the back part of the nose, ones that makes the hip. (not so much of a problem though)

anyway, i was thinking of loosening up the joint by opening the screws...but NOOOO the screws are covered by the shoulder plate.

anyway, if you can help please contact me at hans_hadiwinata@hotmail.com

I don't have any problems with the joints thus far. You just need to put a little bit more force when moving the shoulder joints.
